Amy Ellison

Amy has been CEO of Legal & General Reinsurance (L&G Re) since June 2021, having first joined the Legal & General (L&G) Group in 2016. A chartered accountant with more than 20 years of financial-services industry experience, Amy has worked in several senior management roles within L&G including Defined Contribution, Retail and Personal Investing Finance Director for our Investment Management business, and as Head of Audit for four of L&G’s businesses. In 2019, Amy took up an eight-month secondment as Senior Policy Lead as part of the Independent Review of the Financial Reporting Council, working with our Group Chairman, Sir John Kingman.

Alongside Amy’s responsibilities for financial strategy and performance, she has held several governance roles at L&G, including as a director on the L&G UCITS ETF plc Board and as the Chair of LGIM’s Asset Pricing and Valuations Committee.

Before joining L&G, Amy spent 15 years with PwC in the UK and Australia and was responsible for the delivery of audits and assurance services to globally listed insurance and asset management clients.

Amy is an accomplished musician, having received a postgraduate diploma in performance from the Royal Northern College of Music and holds a master’s degree in music from the University of Edinburgh.

Amy is a member of the Boards of both Legal & General Reinsurance Company Limited and Legal & General Reinsurance Company No.2 Limited.
