Karan Martin

Karan joined L&G Re as Chief Operating Officer in August 2022, having been with Legal & General since  2011.  Karan has been part of the senior leadership teams and COO for Retail Protection, Group Protection and Home Insurance, as well as Strategy Director for Group Protection and a Non-Executive Director of Legal & General Netherlands.  In 2018, Karan joined Legal & General America to support the growth and systems transformation of the US Retail Protection business.

Karan has diverse business experience, having previously held HR and Operational leadership roles at British Gas, iDesk, Xerox and Telefonica O2 UK.  She has large scale people leadership experience, leading some 1400 people in the combined L&G Protection and Home Insurance business.  A theme throughout her career,  has been supporting growing businesses to deliver for their customers through  technology enablement and process re-engineering, alongside people engagement and development.

Karan is originally from Scotland and has an MA in History & Media Studies from the University of Glasgow and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Anglia Ruskin University.
