We are seeking an HR Adviser who will be primarily responsible for managing aspects of the HR function such as compensation & benefits, policies & procedures, and data & reporting. A key member of a small and efficient team, the HR Adviser will work collaboratively to ensure an excellent HR function that aligns with L&G’s values.

The HR Adviser will also enable L&G Re to operate with maximum effectiveness in accordance with regulatory and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Track and monitor all payroll related changes and information, support with monthly payroll preparation and prepare all relevant quarterly payroll tax data and information.
  • Preparation of annual compensation review data including market analysis and internal and external compensation and benefits benchmarking.
  • Working closely with Finance and Head of HR to develop and track the Staff Costs Budget cycle.
  • Management of surveys and related data preparation; preparation of proposal documents for benefits and/or policy changes/recommendations.
  • Responsibility for all benefits vendor relationships and management of all employee data, files and reporting.
  • Oversight of HRIS data, and other people data systems, documents and reports.
  • Support drafting of monthly Management Information (MI) reports.
  • Ensure Handbook and relevant policies and procedures are up to date, legal compliant and forward thinking.
  • Manage contractor and Group secondee processes and work closely with the Global Mobility team.
  • Coordinate all exit procedures for L&G Re, including interviews, reporting on trends and suggesting actions for improvement.
  • Coach and support team members to continuously strive towards the delivery of an excellent HR service.
  • Drive, support and facilitate ad hoc HR projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree.
  • Possession of, or progress towards, an HR designation such as the CCP, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is desirable.
  • 2 years in a similar role including experience with developing and managing an HR budget, managing the compensation cycle, compensation surveys and benchmarking.
  • A demonstrated understanding of Bermuda’s Employment Act, as well as regulatory frameworks and best practice principles related to HR.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; ability to prioritize critical work and deadlines.
  • High proficiency in MS Office, in particular MS Excel.
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work as part of a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated high standards of integrity and confidentiality, with a proactive approach to assisting and sharing knowledge and expertise.
